You here a lot about black Pentaxes / Canons / Nikkormats , but little about the georgeous black SRT .
I used a battered SRT 201 for years until adding a pair of XD7s . I also bought a close out SRT 101b from Dixons when they were finally killed off , but have scarely used it . It was sometime later , that an early Chrome SRT with straight screw heads with box turned up , followed by a lovely black one with 85 f1.7 which needed repair .
A later black SRT with cross head screws was my final addition . They are slightly rounded compared to competitors and look georgeous !
I did not see many black ones , even back in their heyday , and don't see them advertised here and now .
Is this a UK thing , or were there few black SRTs made ?

This back thing, Dee: I've no idea. Someone out there will know, however.

I've got a black SRT-MC that I use as a backup for my X-700

I STILL have a pile of Nikons. Considering starting a collection of Ricoh SLRs and RFs.

I used to collect SRTs and had just about every model (except the SRT Super) and they were all chrome - never found a deal on a black one.

What happened there? - I just posted a message but it disappeared. So forgive me if it turns up twice. I just said 'Michael - that's around £115 - they're good (I've got one around somewhere), but they're not THAT good! Regards - John

John, I agree. I think the black is very pretty, but unless someone must have it for their collection, he might be whistling for that asking price for quite a while. Mind you, I just did some silly bidding for a Diax IIb; I've missed out on too many of those and got struck by a serious case of SeeWantMustHave! Now I'm trying to decide what I have to sell to pay for it. But I digress.

I am just pleased that I grabbed my pair when I could - but did not see that many around in the 80s .
