I saw a heads-up on another forum about the reintroduction of 127 colour reversal (E6) film: Crossbird ISO 200/24° Process E-6. Cross C-41. From Rollei’s Creative Edition comes the Crossbird Cross Process film: a film created for cross processing. From the ground up Rollei designed this film for vibrant colors, deep blacks and perfect contrast when cross processed. 135 + 120 + 127. And as Single Use Camera. Worldwide unique. As the owner of a minty "baby" Yashica 44, I'm quite excited. Here's the link: www.macodirect.de/Michael.

Never used 127 film but I have, a long time ago, experimented with superslides cut down from 120 transparencies. I do have a Mamiya trimmer which makes the pruning of 6x6 slides to 4x4 very easy. Not all 35mm projectors would cover the superslide frame but I have a Leica model which does cover the whole frame.
Regrettably I haven't shot slide film for many years.

When I was living in Australia in the late nineties I became besotted with Ektachrome E100VS and its consumer equivalent "Elitechrome Extra Color" (which, at about half the price of E100, was the bargain option for cash-strapped wannabes like me).
Brisbane was big enough to have a very good pro-lab that did E6, and several very good camera shops. The first time I popped a 6x6 E100VS onto my lightbox I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.
I too haven't used slides for the last decade, and boy do I miss the magic of lightbox, lupe and a big, fat, super-saturated transparency. Regret is the right word!

When I was very young, my mom had a Kodak Starflash and her second husband had a Retina and they both would use slide film. My sisters and I always thought Mom had the better camera because her pictures filled the entire screen, and not just a small rectangle.
