Hi ! I need help in this case, because I am not very familiar with Canon products. Found this lens ( ca. 6.- USD ) today: Canon FD 50mm 1:1.8 with “Olympic 1984” lens-cap. I assume it should fit the “1984 Official 35mm Camera”. Can anyone tell me which Canon-model this could be ? It surely does not fit the “1984 Official 35mm Camera” from my collection: A colourful Canon Snappy version . Or had there been two “official” cameras, one for the summer and a SLR for the winter-games ? Had there been winter-games in 1984 anyway ? I do not remember. MIK

That lens is for an SLR and I think Canon marketed the AE-1, F-1 and maybe one of the T models as Olympic specials by putting a gold logo on the bodies. That was for the 1984 LA Summer Games.

Yes the lens is the standard manual focus lens for pre-EOS Canon SLRs. The Olympic lens caps are, I think, not too unusual. I have two ... I probably picked the caps up at a camera fair. They are both 52mm size.
