MIK,
When I saw the title I thought it was your house that was being renovated.
I presumed you needed more room for all those cameras you keep buying!
Dave.

Hi MIK! Keep a record of their progress, I'd like to see what it looks like when it's done. Doug

My oldest son, Paul, specializes in the meticulous restoration of old buildings. He has won a number of awards for his restorations. He has worked on properties in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. See "Woodcliffe Properties" www.woodcliffe.ca/#My favourite is The North Toronto Station. I was there in hard hat and safety boots every week for over two years keeping a photographic record of the restoration. Mickey

It's wonderful to see them saving beautiful buildings rather than replacing them with sterile glasses boxes.
When we went to Europe on 2007 the hotel we stayed at was a remodeled slaughterhouse that still had a smokestack (non operating) several hundred feet tall. It was beautiful.

Hi !
I have made some inquiries and found out that this factory, located near the capital of Lower Austria, was founded in 1806 ( so my estimate was wrong ) and was the largest mirror production in old monarchy Austria. A man named Fred Austin ( an Englishman ? ) bought the factory in 1866 and manufactured textile products. Now the two remaining buildings will be rebuilt for a senior`s residence. If I ever come this way again I will take the camera with me.
Mickey, your son has a great job, you must be proud of him, just looked at the website: WOW !
Dave, what a wonderful idea, my collection would fit in the factory hall perfectly ;D.

MIK,
Factories are more often than not quite ugly buildings.
This one seems to have broken the rules and been an elegant structure.

Paul does not have a job. It is almost an obsession. He loves what he does.
