Although the cameras shown here are film cameras.... the photos were taken with my Panasonic Lumix G1 and an Olympus 14mm-42mm zoom lens. I needed another cabinet to take a little pressure off the 3 display cabinets I already have. I found this in a catalog called The Sportsman's Guide. newcabclosed by bob40caliber, on Flickr newcabopen by bob40caliber, on Flickr Bob

Bob, You should have got Doug to make you a cabinet - he could use one of those doors he is repainting for the wood - it wouldn't have cost you anything! I have a very small collection compared to most of you. I got over the problem by keeping things in boxes. The trouble is there is at least one box that has four or so cameras in that I can't find. Maybe a cabinet would be better - the trouble is the cabinets are full of books, photographs and alcohol (seldom drink it at home, but I keep buying it anyway.) Bob, wonderful collection. Dave.

Bob,
That is a beautiful cabinet.
The depth of the shelves looks to be just perfect for cameras.
What is "inexpensive"?
I use Ikea "Billy" or Costco bookshelves. They are only second best. They are too deep and have no doors. I hang clear vinyl sheets in front of them as dust is a problem. Hence, they are ugly but they are CHEAP. I have 9 of them and could use 2 more.
I also use various built in bookshelves throughout the house.

Mickey,
"...I use Ikea "Billy" "
So, Ikea has the same names in Canada as it does in Britain. Billy is one of the more sensible names too.
Bob,
Just looking again: it won't be long till that cabinet is full!
Dave.

The Billy series was inspired by a long-established bookshelf system from another manufacturer whose slogan, in translation, was "let the books speak and the shelves be silent". The Swedish for "be silent" is tiga, and that's the name first given to the Billy series. Until they had to to stop. The new name, Billy, sounds very close to the Swedish word for cheap.
