Hi All! I've got the chance to purchase a good, working SFX for 40 USD. It comes with a 30 something to 70mm zoom. I won't get a chance to test it beforehand, but can return it if it's defective. I know nothing about these and wonder if I could get some insight into them. I believe that it was the Pentax introduction into the autofocus fray. Should I take it ? Doug

Doug, I have an SF7, an SFX and a SFXn. The SF7 was my first venture into autofocus on an SLR. It was a bit too automatic, so the SFX came along later. The SFXn I got a few moths ago - as part of a set with ring-flash and 100mm macro lens. Unfortunately something in the autofocus is noisy - this is definitely the camera and not the lens. Mind you, it had had quite a bit of use. The is a photo of the three bodies somewhere on this forum. Dave. Just found the thread: cameracollector.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=mslrs&action=display&thread=6179

Dave, What sort of batteries does it take? If I can take some with me, I might at least be able to check it out a bit before making my final decision. Thanks, Doug

Battery 2CR5, 6V Lithium. There is an adaptor available for using 4 AA batteries. I say available but you have to find one first!
