I've enjoyed using my Minolta SRT-201 so much lately, that I bid and won another more recent (for me) model -- the X-700. Along with a zoom lens. This should be nice! It has aperture priority exposure which I find a real time-saver. And I have several primes but no zoom for this mount. Both items are from John Titterington, whom I can't say enough good things about. Any thoughts I had about shooting more digital, less film, will have to be put on hold!

I remember back when I was collecting Soviet gear, I always had something on the way -- something to anticipate. I got to the point where I could come within a day or two of guessing the arrival date. Then package, wrapped in heavy brown paper and tied up with Yak hair twine would arrive (at least it looked like Yak hair to me). Fun times.

Great camera. I lucked out and got one with all the accessories in the box a few years ago.

The X-700 is my main go to camera. Or was till I got my XG-m a few weeks ago, the controls are nearly identical so I don't have to think when I use it. I do use the exposure lock button a lot on the X-700 to meter off of certain parts of the frame then zoom out to get the whole picture. Galen

Apart from a Pentax DSLR, the X-700 was my last new purchase. With the amazing 24mm and 50mm macro, I really don't need anything else (Then why have I over 200 slrs -- groan!).
I also am waiting for the postman: coming is a Minolta 2xi. I don't need it and possibly won't use it, but it is the only member of the xi series I didn't have. Sigh!

I am jealous, my postman does not deliver cameras, only invoices and advertising MIK

Perhaps a case of you thinking "hurry Postman, don't be slow, be like Elvis, go man, go."

The Minolta came. Still on the first roll, but I like it very much. Light weight, bright viewfinder, aperture priority auto-exposure, good grip.
