A couple of weeks ago I bought a Revueflex SL 301 for five Euros, the camera is rather worn out, but I love it! I will upload some photos soon. My question, however, is: does anybody know the manufacturer of this type - and to what type(s) is it equivalent? As you may know, Revueflex was a brand under which German retailer Foto Quelle sold photo equipment made by other manufacturers, most notably Chinon and Cosina, but also Konica, Petri and Zenit. Thanks in advance for the input!

I've heard the name, but not really thought about it. Googling it for photos I can see several Revueflex that are lookalikes for others makes - Praktica, Zenith, Konica etc. No doubt MIK will know - and will have several examples in his 'small' collection.

Too dark in the evening to snap a quick pic of the cam. I just tried to shoot a couple and they were all blurred and dark.
When browsing internet photos the Revueflex SL 301 very much equals the Cosina Hi-Lite 405 visually.
At this moment I'm bidding on an auction site on a Porst C-TL Super - which is a Cosina Hi-Lite 405 too.
Images still to follow!

Pictures - at last! Revueflex SL 301 with a Praktica MC Auto Zoom C-Macro 35-70mm. f/3.5-4.5 (a Japanese make - not East German). The lens was not included in the sale, I bought it seperately, the build is a little wobbly. The camera is full of scratches, it has a couple of slight dents here and there, it misses a strap lug - but I love it!

Hi Robert !
A nice and truly cheap find ! I took a lot of pictures, even in Rotterdam, with a 1969 "Revue-Superflex"-badged Chinon with M-42 thread in the 1980`s. It still works, once I bought a second one, same model with same lens at a flea market for mounting them to a stereo-picture couple with double cable release. BTW: "Quelle", who sold the "Revue" products, had gone into liquidation about two years ago.

Thanks for the reply!
I still wonder which manufacturer made the Revueflex SL 301, the camera looks like the Cosina Hi-Lite 405, however, the prism housing of the Revueflex SL 301 appears to be a little more different I think.
I still regard Chinon cameras very high, uptill now I've no Chinon in my collection, however, I'm really keen in finding one!
