Only the second boot sale I have ever attended or heard of in Toronto. My lucky day. Braun Paxette 1953. M39 lens mount. Like new. Voigtlander Brilliant 1932. 120 film. TLR. Non focusing brilliant viewfinder image. And my gem. Needs a little TLC but all parts including leather are present. Everything works. No.4 Folding Pocket Kodak Model B 1909-12. 4"x5" on 123 film. And 5 rolls of 120 Kodak 125PX Professional film. Mickey

Excellent finds. Were you up early for the sale? They always say here that if you don't get there as the "stalls" are setting up the best stuff will already have gone.

The trunk lids opened at 8:00 am. I am an early riser so I like "early". After a week of a debilitating heat wave, yesterday dawned sunny and cool cool with a perfect breeze. As I said, 'My lucky day." Mickey

Congratulations Mickey,
this is really a fantastic find ! The Paxette is a fine camera, as well as the Brilliant. I just love these old Kodak folders. Beeing early at the market can never be wrong. I usually go there also half an hour before opening, that`s the time where you can find the treasures and bargains. Unfortunately I will not find the time for visiting flea markets the next months.
Have fun with your "new" cameras !

Mickey,
Nice cameras you've found there! Next time I find some old Kodak folders, I'll keep you in mind. I've been looking for Ansco products as they were produced here in my Hometown. Does the Voigtlander have that neat little door in the side?

Doug,
I see very few Ansco cameras. I wonder why.
There is no "neat little door in the side" but there is a nifty little glass covered window showing the exposure count.

Mickey,
I'm pretty sure that some of the Voigtlander TLRs had a compartment on the side of the camera body for filters or an extinction meter, I don't know which models though. The frame counter is a nice feature.

Some nice finds. Being the early bird did you also get the worm too. I wonder if car boot sales will be a new trend over here too. That would be nice instead of driving around endlessly to all those yard sales. Might even be more environmentally friendly too with all the gas saved by going to one central spot.

Bob Bob Bob Bob, The weather had been so hot that the worms were probably cooked in their holes. (Vermicelli?) For years I have attended almost every one of four camera fairs held annually in Toronto. I enjoy them but rarely buy anything. This is only my second boot sale and look what I wind up with. I like them very much indeed. I would really like to see more of them. I would always give preference to a grassy field over crowded aisles. I would also like to see them spread over two days. True, the weather here is unpredictable but postponements could be arranged. (The two day idea again.) Between the beginning of June and the end of September there are enough decent weekends to sell a lot of cameras. The world owes a lot to Britain besides Boot Sales. They have given us William Shakespeare, Vera Lynn, Freddy Gardner, The Last night at the Prom and Fish and Chips. Mickey
