I got this camera today, really nice. But....I got kind of a nasty note from the seller telling me I got one helluva deal!!! I told him, "don't list things for .99 cents anymore!". It's not my fault nobody else bid on his camera, is it?

I have accumulated several Maxxum cameras across the range. What I don't like about the 3 series, is their lack of manual control. They are almost like a p&s with a removable lens. But, for 99 cents, you can take it places that you wouldn't take a better camera and still get some good shots.

They should not put it in Auction then, it is the luck of the draw, they kick themselves afterwards, but things tend to find their own level in value in a sale house like Ebay, most of this Minolta model go inexpensively, as do many late model film cameras made in the last gasp of film interest.

Some sellers need to learn it the hard way I would just put something on E-Bay with a start price of 99 Cent if being sure, that it will never ever be sold at that price. Nice find and bargain I also bought a ( different ) Minolta yesterday, just out of some mood. Found it in the junk box of my favorite camera shop, but it was perfectly working. Not 99 Cent ( that might have been the price, the guy got, who sold it to the shop though ), but still cheap, considering that the shipping costs would certainly have been higher, if I would have bought it on an auction. 500 Yen ( app 6 USD ) for a Minolta AF-Tele. No idea, if it can take good pictures though. No manual options, just a P&S ... but I like the concept of switching two lens types ( 38 mm and 60 mm ) instead of using a zoom lens. However, they could have made more out of this idea and provide a brighter 60 mm lens, I think.

A little late, but congrats on getting the 3xi. That is a nice camera. Not many bells and whistles, but very light and aperture priority, shutter priority and full manual control will get you some good pics. I had one for a long time, but gave it to my niece when she wanted to get into photography. Definitely a good learners camera.

Thanks Jack, it was a filler camera for my AF collection. I seem to have this drive to own every Minolta ever made. lol

I had to pay $21 for my 70, but the shipping was cheap. I am eagerly awaiting USPS delivery. Not long ago, I got both a STsi and a QTsi for the $5 minimum bid.

I 'll never forget my MAX70, it was mint, went through all the motions, but would not load the film. I fiddled with it for hours, but no success......there it sits gathering dust. the ht and xt si are good IMHO, if you don't already, you'll soon lust after the 4 model set..QT, ST,HT,XT in ascending order. oh the passion!!!
ENJOY
