Hi everyone! Here's my latest find, a Yashica MG-1 with a Yashinon 45mm / 2.8 lens... I bought it for .99 cents with 9 USD shipping. The seller said that the battery cover would turn, but not come off and that the shutter works. I took the bottom plate off, and saw no battery or corrosion so I applied a small amount of pressure to the cover and it screwed right out. It's impossible to buy replacement batteries for these as they're an odd size of mercury battery. I read somewhere that a 123 battery in conjunction with an L44 would fit and work, but that the voltage would be on the low side, 4.5 volts. I tried it , and guess what? The shutter, and all the other electronics fired right up and seem to work fine ;D I'll give the glass a good cleaning and run a roll through it to see what happens! I'm very happy about it!! Doug BTW, the Bunny has been found, and returned to his rightful place!
