Attachment DeletedI bought this last week at an antique show in Florida. This is a 3/14 x 4 1/4 model. Looking online I can't seem to find another one that has the hole on the right side like this one has. See the hex shape above the focusing knob. There is also a clip like thing on the other side inside, so I figure something long and round fit in there all the way across above the bellows. Too early for a flash? Any ideas?

Had one like your's at one time but I don't think it had that hole up front. Wouldn't be a flash. It might not have been for something that went all the way through the camera. The holes on both sides might have been for some sort of exterior bracket.

Attachment DeletedTurns out it is someone's home made version of flash sync. I took the camera front off to see what it looked like inside and saw that someone had made this. Apparently a 5 inch 2 conductor rod is inserted that makes one contact on one side and another on the other side. Both sides have wires that go on inside the camera to, I guess, a switch that's made somehow by the shutter. I have been in contact with Bruce Thomas in Australia who has a Graflex web site and he agrees that is is a flashbulb sync device.
