Couldn't help posting another photo of our only grandchild. Shot last week with a 1937 Contax II with f1.5 Sonnar. Fuji 400 film. Not bad for a 69-year-old camera.

What aperture was this shot at?
The reason I am asking that is it seems to be a tad soft, except for the bunny rabbit. My guess is it was close to wide open in subdued light. Am I correct?
Other than that it is a very cute picture of a girl and her favourite toy. She is going to break many hearts with those eyes in years to come.

Nice available light shot of a lovely little girl, Wayne.
Can't really criticise the DOF. My guess is that you were working at about f/2 or only slightly smaller with a fairly slow shutter speed, a DOF like a sheet of paper, and about half a second to focus and catch the picture. An older rangefinder with its tiny eyepiece isn't quite so easy to use as a later SLR for this sort of picture.
Don't know your R/F technique with close shots like this, but mine usually is to focus quickly and then move my body slightly backwards or forwards rather than try to keep refocusing. In that respect I find my Contax II, similar age to yours, is faster to work with than my same age Leica with two eyepieces. And I do like the f/1.5 Sonnar, old and uncoated though it may be.
Got to admit, though, that if I feel like using an R/F I use one of my Kievs or a Yashica Minister more than the Contax or Leica because they're easier and cheaper to replace should I do something silly like drop it.
Well done.

I think I was shooting around f2 at 1/125 sec. I absolutely hate the Contax focusing wheel when working with subjects that are movint around. I have to learn to focus with the lens barrel. As I have noted proviously, I'm much more comfortable with an SLR when it comes to focusing but I do like to exercise the RFs once in a while.

I have been working on my income tax today. Terribly depressing work. That picture, that sweet little girl, gave me just the boost I needed to carry on. Thank you.

Wayne,
Ya ain't proud of that cute lil' girl are you??? Oh yes...you do not even need to answer that.
She is just a little soft focused compared to bunny as she was probably moving around a bit, but still an adorable shot and family keepsake.
