ASD tends to be specific something is 'safe ' or ' sorry '.
I wanted a Sony DSLR for my Minolta 35-80 - perfect 52-120 with crop factor . However , I was all too aware that the A290 is stripped of all but the essentials and employs a sensor from 2008 , so outdated at launch . But this has proved to be why I was drawn to it - ASD likes simplicity and lack of distracting controls etc . It has the same finish all over with discrete logos and minimal controls . Rival cameras , no matter how much 'better ' tend to have several different finishes and more buttons and dials . It's a genuine relief to understand the reason why this camera is ' calming ' . I now have another imminent - A390 but with live view and ' waist level ' screen which is only marginally more cluttered . They tend to be inexpensive used which is a bonus !! dee
