Here's a small "bokeh" test. Lenses on test are the "old" M39 mount Helios-44 58mm f2 and Mir-1 37mm 2.8. I've trown in the (manual) Nikkor 50 mm f2 to compare with. The Mir-1 does have some swirly bokeh at 2.8 as does the helios-44 at f2 (wich gradually disappears when stopping down) The Nikkor has a somewhat "harsher" bokeh and no swirls, note the difference in perspective between the 58mm and the 50mm (more than i thought it would be). Those who don't like swirly bokeh now know what to avoid. These old lenses do look good on the D3 though...
