I know it's not easy, but sometimes you have to be the one to snipe at the last minute. My new leatherette and top cover arrived today, all I need now is a little ambition.

Here's a 10 sided barn that's a couple miles south of my house. Forgive me though, my photo isn't digital, it's from a Aires Viscount rangefinder camera.

Well, I took a look in my Project Bag and decided to start a new project. About 4 years ago, I bought a camera lot on Evilbay. One of the cameras was a Minolta XD-11 that was supposed to be broken. The top was smashed in at the prism, and it had that shrunken leatheritus so prevalent with the XDs. At the time, I took off the top cover and tried to do the best bodywork that I could. I put it back together and it worked! The Auto and Program functions worked just fine, so I put it in the Project Bag and pretty much forgot about it until today. I have 2 other Minolta XD-11s that are like new, one is black and the other chrome, and I had installed Peanut Brittle Lizard Skin from Cameraleather.com on them and the D-Winder. Today being my birthday, I took them out to admire my handiwork again. Freda and I just sat and talked about how nice they looked when she asked, "don't you have another in your project bag?"
So, out of mothballs the project came, and it still works just fine. I purchased a Seal Grain black kit from Morgan at Cameraleather for 14.50 and also bought a new top cover for it.
I'll post some pics when the parts get here.

I would recommend before tackling that errant battery cover, the bottom plate should be removed to prevent damage to the camera.

What makes a Topcon camera worth so much? Most of the ones I see for sale are either over priced or broken.
