Thanks for the quick Yashica lens recommendation. That is my next order of business as the Zeiss lenses will be out of my range for some time (unless I get really lucky). I have a number of Tamron Adaptalls and Adaptall 2s, so I just need to pick up a mount for those. However, I believe primes to fit this camera's "character" better, especially given it's size.
I do need to pick up a kit to replace the "leathers", and probably a light seal kit as well.

Let me start by saying that, I'm not much of a serious collector, but I've always loved all the Contaxes of the "Japanese Era". This episode goes right to the top of my strange acquisition lists. It started with me trolling an auction site and finding a 139 Winder which I land for $7. Then, a week later, I find an actual 139 for $10. I hardly expect either piece to be in working condition at these prices, but as it turns out, after a little bit of fiddling around, they both work! And the shutter even sounds right at the various speeds!
Now, I just have to find lenses I can afford and try it out.

The "GN" pancake is also on my "bucket list" unless of course if I were to win the lottery I never enter and able to buy the updated "P" version!

Welcome Richard. You are in quite the hotbed of old cameras there in Florida!

Welcome Jonathan from New Zealand. I also like various cameras as well, and have a soft spot for Minoltas. Where in NZ are you from if you don't mind my asking?

I don't know for a fact, but over the course of the 70's Ricoh and Pentax product lines became closer and closer with many products having similar specs and feature sets. This became especially true after Ricoh switched to the "K" mount. I've never seen that particular lens, though it's physical characteristics are remarkably close to the Pentax 40mm.
I have on occasion had some mad moments when I've thought of acquiring the Nikkor 45mm GN lens, then I realize that on a DX sensor'd camera like my D40 and D300, it's focal length isn't of great use. I'd definitely consider the Konica Pancake to go with my TC though.

These days, most anything that one can hang the moniker of "pancake" on seems to have an inflated following. That being said, I have a soft spot for them myself, but refuse to pay for it so therefore, I go without. I do have one of the "E" series Nikon 50mm that's often called a pancake, although compared to your Pentax, is nowhere close. I used to lust after that 40mm, until I got out of Pentaxes. Always dreamed of how compact my ME-Super would be with it on there!

I also find the Yashica TL Electro X to be a good looking camera with that beautifully ornate Y on the viewfinder and the atomic symbol on the front and shutter speed dial. This is on my camera "bucket list".

Ah, the FZ7, or the North American version was a source of much consternation when I was looking for a "super-zoom", it came down to that or the Nikon CoolPix 8800 which won out.

There are quite a few beauties out there and I would like to submit for consideration the Pentax MX with pancake lens . . . Very nice! For about a decade, I carried a black MX very much like this one, although I never bought the "pancake" lens for it.

Very nice. It seems similar to my Tamron 28-50mm which is the "walk-around" lens on my D40.

Oddly enough, today at First Monday, in Canton, Texas, (we're kinda informal about days of the week in Texas) I found a Linhof Technika, for which the man wanted $700. This would be off-topic, except for the "extra lenses for the camera". A 35mm and a short tele, both with M42 mounts. He didn't believe me, until I showed him the Edixaflex manual at the bottom of the case. He's going to think about it, before he "breaks the set." I briefly thought about going to 1st Monday as I drove through Canton on June 30th (on the way to Caddo Lake SP), then again on July 3rd, on our way back! I've never been, but have always heard that there were "old cameras" there, from my students who have been.

Yes, although she hasn't taken it out to shoot yet. We still need to get over to one of the super-pharmacies and pick up some of the hearing aid batteries that are supposed to work in place of the mercury PX-13 batteries. I've only ever read about the use of that substitution, but would really like to try it out.
It amazes me a little that a modern American 16 year old would randomly develop an interest in film photography!

Here in Dallas, we have a computer oriented "Flea Market" which is called the 1st Saturday Sidewalk Sale. It's been around for quite a long time although it's not what it used to be with the growth of the Internet. I'll go on occasion just to see if I can find anything unique. Well.... last month I did! If common to find old plastic cameras, but rarely something like the mint Minolta Hi-Matic 7S II! One of my students who went along wanted it, but didn't have the confidence to negotiate for it with the vendor. As she's kind of become a daughter to me, I did it for her and came away giving somewhere between $10 and $15 for it. It's hard to tell since I "bundled" it with several other items we wanted!
I came complete with the case (in excellent condition) and seems to be in good working order. She's pretty excited!
