Good catch on the Pentax' (Penti?). I have Spotmatic, K-1000 and ME-Super in my collection. The Super has deteriorated foam and a common internal glitch on the mirror mechanism so it has taken no pictures, yet. I have several copies of the Pentax f2 normal, M and A series. Very punchy picture makers.
Randy, Looking at your P&LE shot and wondering how old it is. Units 3 & 4 are ancient U-Boats. U-25B maybe?

I have three versions of this camera. A Cosina CT-1 Super, A Vivitar and a Voigtlander Bessa R.
The 21st century version of the Ricoh Singlex TLS!

Roy, Thank you very much for an informative reply. I have been considering the Big-Is adapters. Others have had reasonable luck with them and the cost is attractive.
I have been focusing my auto-focus lenses manually when using a tripod so I'll probably skip the chip.
Peltigera and Wayne, Thanks for your thoughts.
PS: Roy. A conversion project my former employer had been working on has finally flown. A DeltaHawk diesel engine has been fitted to a Cirrus SR-20. It has a distinctive sound and trails a noticeable exhaust plume. I am told the plane was completed by the owner and Deltahawk people after the project stalled in the hands my former employer.

I found one of these back in 2009 badged as a Honeywell, coincidentally for $5. Was able to sell it at a modest profit via ebay. Everything worked. I ran a roll of film through it and got very good results. The lens will not disappoint you.

Canon 5D MkII is my favored DSLR because it's the only one I have. Taking pictures with it is great. No appreciable shutter lag like the point and shoots. Getting it turned on and getting to desired settings is still a struggle. I have three compacts. My first is a 2 mp Fuji FinePix 2650 that I bought back in '02. I've used it for just about all of the illustrations on The Casual Collector web site and product photography on my ebay auctions. The lens has awful distortion at the wide end. That disappears about midway in the zoom range. The flash delivers a single flash and is ideal for triggering an external flash. It feeds on a steady diet of rechargeable AA batteries. The relatively small file upload relatively quickly via my bog slow connection. Here is an example of what this old 2mp camera produces. Next is an Olympus FE-310. I picked this up at a thrift store for 20 bucks and thought I found a heckuva deal. I've since discovered why I got it so cheap! It's a very nice 8mp camera. Slim and light, very pocketable, big display screen and relatively intuitive controls. The lens seems quite good. Preflash cannot be disable so it doesn't get used for product shots. The downside, it sucks dry AA alkaline batteries in no time at all! Absolutely unbelievable! I can't charge NiMHs fast enough. A dozen pictures and it needs fresh batteries. When I carry it, it's turned off so I'll never catch any "decisive moments" with it but it is my favorite to carry. I also have a 2mp Canon Digital Elph. Nice, metal veneered body with optical viewfinder and a good lens. The LCD is small, the body is a chunky with sharp corners. The rechargeable proprietary batteries are a bit short winded. The preflash cannot be disabled so it doesn't work for triggering an external flash. It spends its life on a shelf. I am struggling in the digital age... I long for a digital version of my simple Canon FL/FD mount cameras!

I have many old lenses in many mounts. Contax/Yashica, Exakta, Leicaflex, Nikon, Olympus and Pentax adapt fairly easily to the Canon EOS bodies (I have a 5D mk II). I would like to know what adapters you have had good and bad experience with and where you sourced them. Thanks.

I'm a long time fan of Irwin Allen's Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea TV show. I've noted several cameras in that show including a Barnack style Leica or copy of same and a Pentax.
A classic example of ignoring continuity in a film would be the car chase seen in "Bullitt" with Steve McQueen. The Dodge Charger shed several right front wheel covers!

Good Catch, Wayne! I faced a similar choice several years ago when I found an R.E. Auto Topcor 25mm f-3.5. Beautiful, valuable lens. Do I keep or sell? I sold and recovered my investment many times over.
FT3 was an impressive piece. As a rule, the chain I worked for didn't carry Nikon or Nikkormat cameras but we did have the FT3. I think sales of the newly introduced Nikon FM were beginning to undermine the Nikkormat so Ehrenreich went looking for more outlets.

Gosh! Is Vermont Color still around? I've had a roll of 620 developed at Dwayne's ( www.dwaynesphoto.com/ ) in Parsons, Kansas within the past year. They even returned the spool at my request!
