I may have missed someone pointing this out but since you have M42 lenses, you might consider an M42 to Pentax K adapter that will allow you to use the M42 lenses you already have on your K mount camera - perhaps in the future should you get another. Below is my M42 Takumar fisheye on my ME Super using the adapter.

I was also apprehensive with achieving critical focus - especially with fast lenses wide open, but I am now also comfortable with that after using the Minolta and Pentax F1.2s. Of course it is only a matter of time before my age will finally catch up with my eyes as it has with the rest of me . . . Right now autofocus comes in handy when having someone else take a photo of me and the little lady when we are out and about!

There are quite a few beauties out there and I would like to submit for consideration the Pentax MX with pancake lens . . .

A local camera shop owner was really taken with how smooth and quiet the XE-7 shutter release was and often asked me to let him click off a picture. In my collection, the XE-7 has the smoothest film advance throughout the whole range. It is so smooth, it makes me wonder if there is something wrong with my other manual SLRs.

For an older guy, I am new to manual focus cameras. Coming from full autofocus cameras, I was hesitant to try manual focus SLRs. It's been about 5 years now since I have immersed myself into the manual cameras and loving it
