I have seen a couple of mentions online, of the Selectaflex, suggesting it does have manual exposure... auction.catawiki.com/kavels/13053153-agfa-selectaflex-model-1-1963-+-3-lensesI have an Agfaflex IV, with the f2.8 50mm lens, the 35mm, and the 135mm; it's a heavy camera, and its meter works fine. The 90mm lens you are looking at is uncommon. Even more uncommon is the 180mm supplied for the Selectaflex. Added later - I've just checked my McKeowyn's Price Guide, and the Selectaflex does have manual exposure.

Last October, I bought one of these fine cameras, and as expected, it was reluctant to work - the shutter was sticky. I put it aside, intending to repair it myself. Last week, though, I decided to have it repaired by an expert, so I dropped it off to Chris Sherlock, of Retina Rescue. I picked it up yesterday, and it is now loaded with film.

Hi there, and welcome. We understand non-collectors of cameras here.

The earliest I have, is a Praktica from 1952 - like an FX not marked as one.

It isn't clear from the article whether the Praktica was uneconomical to make over the whole of its production life.

If I'm not mistaken, that was from "SLR Notebook" by Herbert Keppler, Popular Photography January 1991. Selling something for a quarter of what it cost to make it was the genius of communist economics. But was this the case during the production life of Praktica cameras, or only at the end of production - after reunification?

I've replaced the dead image links (from Photobucket) with links to my own site, in this post. I can do this with other of my old posts here, if required.

I have an Agfaflex which works fine, apart from a slightly hesitant 1s speed. My experience with other similar cameras (Topcon, Kowa) though, is similar to yours.

It wasn't difficult - I found a local hosting provider, who was also a domain name registrar. I opened an account, chose and registered a domain name, and paid $96.60, which is a year's subscription. I copied Wordpress onto my page, and used instructions I found online to set up a basic photogallery, which allows upload and linking of photographs.

"Yet, I am waiting if they get to my account (it is a paid one, no-ads, and I am way way below the storage limit)".
You may be ok, until your subscription is due.
