Can anyone describe how to remove the film advance knob and lever on the Beirette Junior II? I have unscrewed the central screw in the top of the advance knob, the screw itself would appear long enough to thread the knob to the axle it sits on top of (the axle that carries the film take-up spool, etc), suggesting it is the fastener I need to remove, but things seem stuck fast. I am left wondering if there is some other fastening that is keeping the advance knob/lever assembly attached, something that I have overlooked. I need to take the top cover off, because there is a problem with the double exposure prevention. Thank you, Hannes

B for Bilora Box It was a present in the late 1970ies. I shot one roll of film with it. Old school building from early 20th century, shot with Bilora Box 6x9 1980. Digitized 2014. Hannes

Thank you for the hint with the mirror foam. My SRT 303 has the same problem. 1 out of 10 times the mirror stays up after a shot. I observed that this happens more often at slow shutter speeds. I like the SRTs, built like a tank.

Hello: I need some experts hint Can anybody answer the question why this chrome Mamiya ZE has no Labels on the top cover? I also have a black ZE with Mamiya name on the to cover wher the logo is engraved and painted. On this one the cover is completely even and shows no signs of removal of the writings. Serial # of the chrome one is 455050, I also have a black ZE with lower number 101055 Greetings from Austria Hannes

Thank you Hans
So this is my 2nd oldest camera. Today I have seen a VEB post war Tenax I on sale for a reasonable price. Let's see if I can get it. It looks a little bit different to the pictures of post war Tenax 1 I have seen. There is VEB written right on the front ring around the lens and a 1 in a ring on the left side.

Hi Hansz:
Do you have a list to find the production year/month of a Tenax?
Mine has serial J84243.
Thank you Hannes

Hello:
Regarding to the Patent the intention from Mr Schwarzbauer was to build a very cheap camera without the need of special tools. The need of a special made takeup cassette would not fit to that intention.
The easiest way would be to use the standard 135mm film cassette. Tried it and yes it perfectly fits.
From my point of view the Arex is a really strange thing. The build quality reflects the way it was made, a DIY project. The only way to successfully sell it must be based on a very low price. Does anybody know the original price it was sold in 1955?
Before I put a film in it it needs some maintenance on the double exposure prevention and polishing of the "film preasure plate". The back plate comes off very easily, there is no lock.
Greetings from Vienna

I registered to this forum because I would like to find more information about the Arex. (I posted my question in the existing Arex thread in viewfinders.) A short introduction: I started taking pictures end of the 1970ies with an Agfa Isoly taking 4x4cm negatives on 120 roll film. Then I upgraded my gear to Fed 1, Zorki 4, Prakticas, Pentax Spotmatic and finally a Nikon F301. All cameras have been at least second or third hand, except a Praktica MTL5B which was my first new camera. I also started collecting cameras, when I could get one for free or very cheap. 2007 I swaped to digital with a Nikon D70s. Last year I read about a project "a camera a month" which means to grab a different camera of your collection and use it every month. This brought me back to analog film also made me look for some other Cameras I had on my "wish list" for years. eg Nikon FM, a TLR, folders in 24x36 or 6x6. Having my eyes and ears open added a few more cameras to my collection. There is one requirement for cameras to be added to my colletion: They must be in working condition and ready to be used. Actually I have a film in this Zeiss Ikon Tenax I.

Hello:
Found this old post while searching for information about the Arex.
Do you have more information about these cameras?
I got one recently and have some questions:
Since there is no rewind knob and mine has no takeup spool, what kind of cartridges are used to wind the film in? Do you know how many have been made?
Mine has #1748 and seems to be a 1955 model.
Greetings from Austria
