Hannes, thanks for the pics. The Arex did fine, IMHO - we must not forget that it was not designed to beat the expensive brands but to keep photography affordable. Best regards Martin in Linz

Lomo 110 film comes in color negative (regular and redscale), color slide and B&W negative film (if they have stock).

What comes closest to a vintage digital in my heap of cameras is certainly a Canon G2. 4MP and a tiltable screen the size of larger stamp. But has an optical viewfinder. Very fine camera and made from unattainium (1500 Euros) at the time. I took this photo with it. The statue is by Georg Kolbe and found in the Miehs van der Rohe pavillion in Barcelona, Catalunya. Second one I'd like to mention is my Olympus Camedia C-5050. 5 MP, f 1.8, optical finder, tiltable screen, hot shoe. Takes almost everything that provides electricity ;-) and I think three different types of memory cards. I just got it and it's still untested.

Hello Hannes, stupid me. I replied to your previous posting as there was a quick reply field at the end of page 1 of the thread, not looking up far enough that you have posted the pics already. Count it as beginners fault. Fine photos. I think you can press the film release button and start winding then. Mine seems to be able to do that. Fine collection of cameras you have on your Flickr page. Looks we have some in common. Best regards Martin in Austria

At least he has two legs, Mickey, so no need to be grumpy about them when most have only one, tell him that.

Servus Hannes, Great idea to mount the spool upside down. I wonder how CEWE will handle such a spool. If you have a changing bag you can also wind it back into the original one. Well with reasonable fast film you don't need the 1/25 anyway. Maybe black isolation tape (textile type) would be even better than rubber bands. Don't know. Now that I know how to load it.... Danke and best regards Martin

Dee, until now I have no problems using a MD adapter on a Micro 4/3 body . not 4/3 I admit. With an electronic viewfinder those make nice combos. Regards Martin

Thanks Phil, I did not know about this format. Anyway, I believe my Arex needs some kind of take-up cassette. I'll keep you posted when I have shot the camera. Thanks everyone for their replies Best regards Martin

I do very much the same, Hans. But it seems I'm not roaming the country enough. At least I managed to finish a roll of film which I loaded last year in my Hi-Matic 11 this summer. I'm still a bit slow on the "out" part of one in one out. Anyway, mailman just brought me an Olympus mju: metal - beautyful and looks like new. Regards Martin in Austria

Hi Hannes and philbirch,
yes sounds like a good idea. But, alas, I have some favourites among my cameras - the ones I can trust when taking them on a holiday. Two of my favourite shooters are my Carena SX-300 - a Shanghai made Minolta x-300, really and my Olympus XA. I also have some digital cameras by now. Their prices drop a lot faster than of the others. A Canon G2 for example or an Olympus Camedia C-5050. Also two M 4/3 cameras with lots of cheap adapters for my old glass. Anyway, I will try to shoot the more neglected ones as suggested. Thanks and regards Martin
