another source is to buy an old flash bulb gun on Ebay with the bayonet style connector, Kodak even made a converter from that ASA bayonet style to PC , I would search Ebay if you don't have luck, or some of the larger old used equipment dealers like Columbus Camera Group. Jay

I think APS came to late to succeed not just or maybe even primarily because of digital but because by the time it was actually released 35mm cameras and film processing/printing had improved so much there was no need for it, and as already stated the cameras were little or no smaller than compact 35mms. Disc now there was the dumbest format ever., clumsy to say the least. Jay

I have an XD11 that has proved to much for me ! I got it broken and it had been "repaired" the problems are in the wiper assembly needs a new wiper and a few other small parts in that area. otherwise it's pretty good if someone needs a parts camera or wants to fix it. I'll ship it with top off with all the parts in baggies. They were a great camera I wanted the better controls than the X700 which I have but like I said it's proved to much for me. I wonder if Minolta came up with a better wiper latter this one seems so fragile ? Jay

And I so agree that a computer in a box is not my ideal of a camera, let me visualize the picture and do the editing pre exposure not all post. I did not take years studying photography to let a computer make the decisions for me and I hate menu driven cameras ! just give me the basic controls shutter speeds and F stops my computer ( brain) will do the rest. Wish there was a "basic" digital just the controls and a high pixel image collector no on board computer, i don't even need metering.

I have to agree that all in one or at least casual picture taking with phones will continue to increase in popularity as improvements continue. Kodaks problem has been chasing the wrong technologies those with shrinking profits like the push in printers and ink where market share and profit margins have been shrinking for 20 years What were they thinking another case of overpaid idiot CEO and leadership i call it the "GM syndrome" great research and all, but can't make good decisions at the top. Mark my words GM will ultimately fail because they have not changed their basic way of thinking, just thrown people out of the boat and taken welfare, if you think they paid any money back check with Glen Beck ( and no I am not a Glen Beck true believer) Kodak can blame everyone and everything but if they don't change they won't succeed. enough ranting Jay

I could go on a long discussion about how cameras and the industry have changed with pluses and minuses needless to say the world has changed some parts I like and some I don't. One thing is clear we will not have cameras that will be usable for 40+ years in digital, rather we have entered the disposable mass marketed age for the most part.

Thanks for the Pics John I have a PetriFlex you have inspired me to dig into, I may need some advice assuming you got yours all back working. Mine does not have any rust but strangely had graphite all over the works, I've got the bottom and top off, think it's really necessary to take the mirror box out ? This on would work then the mirror would hang up and jamb, let it sit ,then play with the release and it would finish the cycle, after working it a bit the slow speeds and self time work but need a CLA. I got into trouble with the 55 f2 lens trying to take the name ring off it appears it does not come out separately marred it up pretty badly before taking the whole barrel front off including name ring in one piece, good news is I have the diaphragm working again and all should be fine just ugly front. I kind of like the main drive shaft ideal: we'll see how it works when cleaned and lubed. P.S. The covering on mine was just as bad even after a treatment with leather conditioner and warming it still was like asphalt or something, not one piece reusable.
Do you know my Friend Chris Sherlock the Retina guy ?
Thanks Again Jay

Hello to all I've been a student of photography for over 30 years now and done a little professional work. I'm a not very serious camera collector and repairer. Made a lot of slides for multimedia shows with my Topcon RE Super back in the day, a camera I still have and still consider better than the Nikon F. Have nothing against digital except the price of a DSLR and lenses to equal what I have in film capabilities would cause me to mortgage my house for a camera with a life of maybe 4 years. These days I actually prefer a camera with no computers, no electronics at all: let me apply what I have learned in these years with out menus to get in the way, shutter speeds and F stops is all I need.
