I've recieved my URTH Leica M to Nikon Z adapter so I could use my M lenses on the Z. First to try was the Voightländer 35mm 1:1.4 Nokton Classic. What a disgrace for the Voigthländer name. I've heard some bad things about this lens, but now I've tried it i believe everything that is written about it. To say it is "soft" wideopen is an understatement, to me it is just unsharp! and laks contrast. Things improve somewhat stepped down, but this isn't the reason one buys a 1:1.4 lens. I did a comparison against the Samyang 35mm 1:1.4 (wich is monstrously large) this isn't exactly a top of the range prime, but still it performs well even wideopen. Here's the results, for good measure I've included a shot made with the Nikkor Z 24-70 f4 zoom at 35mm f4. here's the complete image and here's both lenses next to each other Anyway, it's a waste of time and film to use this Voightländer lens on the Leica M's there are better options.... I'm running a film through the M4 haven't got much hope for the results on film for this lens either.
