I've just installed a canon 5600f flatbed scanner. It will mainly be used to scan 35mm negatives, B&W and colour. The first problem i've encountered is the negative holder isn't able to flatten curled film, resulting in newton rings on the scans. The scanner itselve does a decent job and relatively fast, surfing the net while the scanner is doing its thing makes waiting for results somewhat more bearable . If anybody knows how to de-curl negtive film i will be happy to know about it. Here's a first result:
