Nikon 1

The nikon 1 system despite being wonderfull cameras, never were very succesfull. The main reason people didn't buy them was their small sensor size. lately more and more people are becoming aware of the virtues of the 1 system now 13 years after their launch. This somehow comes to prove that some ten years ago digital cameras had reached a level were people said this is sufficient for me, these cameras can take care of all my photographic needs. I've got a few 1's and use them occasionally. for the collection i would love to have one of them pink panter pink (not the metallic pink) J1's but they are rather rare and beginning to fetch "collectors" prices. Next on the list I'm going to convert my (white) J1 to full spectrum infra red and have some fun with that. Here's my current stock:

For film use I normally used leitz with the collapsible 50mm, then Rollei 35s and for a short while the unreliable-shutter-Minox in a suitable pocket.

With digital; a small Sony with a good sensor (probably same size as the N-1s) it plus the collapsible lens serves as the same purposes as my previous analog equipment. It is much easier to bring out than my clumsy and heavy Z-7 but does not have its flexibility.
