Bob, Love the shots...particularly those with the 500DTL. That shed with the corrugated roof reminds me so much of some of my grandfather's old outbuildings on his farm in Tennessee...about a zillion years ago, it seems. I have not been back down there since he passed away (at 92) in 1991. ----- and, Tommy, just because the DTL meter failed is no reason not to use it any more! That mechanical beast will still take great pictures...you just have be a little more involved in the exposure settings! You know... Sunny 16 and all that! LOL!! ;D ----- BTW Bob, ever think of getting a cat?

Thanks guys...
Wayne--yes--lol
Ron---that building, I believe was a "sugaring shack" in its day (used to boil down the sap into maple syrup)
Minolatman--PM me and I can send you a text that explains how to use that 500DTL, quite effectively, without the meter.

Thanks guys... Ron---that building, I believe was a "sugaring shack" in its day (used to boil down the sap into maple syrup) Bob My grandfather's place had what they called a "lassie mill" -- for making molasses out of the sap ground from sugar cane. People came from two counties away with trucks of their cane, for him to make molasses out of it. I remember one old farmer (he was probably younger than I am now) telling me "Your Pappy has the magic when it comes to makin' lassie!" His molasses was always very sweet, not bitter like the stuff you get in the store.

Bob,
Very nice photos. Number two. Old buildings always appeal to me. I particularly like number three. Those two tabbys are so - so - cattish. What great faces!

Thanks for the kind words Mickey.
Ron-any photos of that "Lassie" building? Fascinating that they have similar purposes.

Ron and Vintageslrs, I was away for the long weekend and just saw your responses!!
Thank you for the advice on the Mamiya 500DTL, I appreciate it. However, I ended up selling the camera on ebay a few months ago! I think I'm going to get another one on ebay but I might go with the DSX next time.
Thank you again!
