Purchased this Fujica ST605N a few weeks ago thru evilbay..... just arrived today......was a terrific buy as it was $17.00 including the shipping. The seller thought the meter did not operate .....he did not know you must stop down the lens to activate the meter....it works just fine. One of my best Ebay purchases ever! ;D now if I can just get out and use it..... Bob

That sounds a great buy, Bob. I also thought the meter on my ST605 didn't work till I found that button by the self-timer lever. BTW what's the difference between the ST605N and the plain ST605 that I've got?

the only difference is shutter speeds are visible in the viewfinder on the ST605N..

I've found on several "non-working" acqusitions that the only trouble was the seller really didn't have a clue as to how it worked -- stuff non photographers pick up at estate sales just because it's cheap (whish I could find one of those sales). Some sellers aren't lying when they state "I don't know anything about cameras, but....."

At the Salvation Army store. A pristine, in the box, Star Case Sport Action Camera with four built in lenses arrayed in a square. It takes four pictures in rapid sequence on one frame. It is 100% genuine plastic including the lenses. Pop up sports finder a la Speed Graphic. Quality from 1 to 10 is minus 26-1/4. As long as I don't hold it too tightly it might stay light tight. If I squeeze it it creaks like a dungeon door. I just can't wait to put some film through it. Oh yes - the price. $2.99 CAN plus taxes. I might have paid a little too much but I just couldn't resist such a gem and the money did go to a good cause.

Ansco Regent in minty shape w/ case. Sort of a cross between the upscale Retina and a Speedex. Also a Carenar RS. Exact copy (rebadged?) of a Petri 7 but the top and bottom covers, shutter button and most lens parts are plastic rather than metal. Strangely light, but clear viewfinder and 45 f2.8 lens.

Curt,
I believe the Ansco Regent was made by Agfa in Germany and is the same as the Agfa Solinette II. Nice camera. If you look at the solid body you can see the family likeness between the Solinette and the solid-bodied Silette.
