A while back I sold one of my favorite lenses--a 24mm af nikkor, to finance a 20mm f2.8 Nikkor. Although I love the 20mm, I have missed the tried and true 24mm focal length (4mm can make a lot of difference in some shots--distortion is much easier to control).
Today I stumbled on a 24mm f2.8 Nikkor ( Manual Focus) on the auction, advertised as near mint. I threw in a bid of about half what they were selling for the last time I checked. Tnight I was informed I won the lens. Since my Nikons--an F3, FM and F4, all cane use manual focus ai lenses (the F4 also has autofocus) I consider the 24mm a real find and cheap enough I won't have to feel guilty if I only use it once in a while.
