Hey guys. Last week I won a Gossen Lunasix 3 light meter in excellent condition. The case is almost unmarked and it is in wonderful working condition. I got it for just under $70 AUD, including postage, which is a bargain considering that an identical model I was watching went for $100 AUD on the weekend AND the fact I got the spot meter attatchment with mine, which have seen as a buy it now on eBay for $100 on it's own. It came with two alkaline cells in the battery compartment, which although were the correct physical dimentions, were the wrong voltage. The Lunasix 3 originally used the now defunct PX13 mercury cells, which are 1.35 volts, wheras the alkaline equivalents are rated at 1.5 volts. This volage differance will through the reading out a fair bit. So today I bought a pack of 4 zinc-air cells made for hearing aids and some small rubber o-rings. combined, these fit into the battery compartment very well and also lowers the voltage to near the original cells, seeing as the zinc-air cells are 1.4 volts. Now the reading are very close to spot on, which I have tested with my 300D.
Needless to say I am totally stoked.
