Just won another Fujica, this one a ST605 (my other 3 are the 605N's). Comes with a couple of lenses (Fujinon 55 2.2, Super Takimur 135 3.5 and another on the camera that I don't know what it is but it does have a Pentax lens cap and looks like a Tak). Also ahs a 2x converter, bag, some Pentax literature and a few other bits and pieces. All this for the princely sum of $30 AUD. I don't really care if the body doesn't work too well as the lenses are worth the price alone, especially the Tak.

I too like the ST605 Heath. Recently had a disappointment with an ST705 though. Alright at first, but eating batteries. Bought it as "Good condition", but it had a film in it (a bad sign really - why did they stop?) and two batteries leaking corrosion all over the place. Will open it up one of these days and check it out.

ps - also have an STX1, but I'm not keen on it. It's lens is not very good, but other than that can't put my finger on it. Why do we take to one and not another?

Yes, the ST605 is a great value and a favorite of many here, including me...I think it's compact-ness and ease of use are some of the reasons. As far as the Fujinon lens....the one to stay away from is the 55mm F2.2, as it is very much prone to flare. The rest of the Fujinon lenses are quite good! And I keep telling all...........if you like the ST 605----the Fujica SLR to buy.....their best ever is the ST 801. An LED metering system ( the first ever), super bright viewfinder and the compactness and feel of the ST 605. And that LED meter seems to far out last the average match needle system, from that era. All of the ST 801's I have......have all the light meters (LED's) working and accurate without ever being touched. So, I recommend to anyone who likes the ST605, when funds allow, grab an ST801.....if you can find any that are not in my collection ;D.

Hi Bob, Oh dear! That's the lens on my ST 605. I've just finished the first film I put through it and I'll be dropping it off for processing later today. If the pics show flare ... oh well, back to the Canons. Or I could put a decent lens on it, like a Tessar! ;D Have fun, Peter W

If my 55 2.2 produces flair, I will put my 55 1.8 Super Tak on it, or a Helios 44-m 58 2.
Thanks for the information. The main reason for me getting the ST 605 is to add it to the cameras I am using for my project that should be up and running in the next 2 months. once I get all the lenses that is.

Yes - I also think that's the one on that STX, but other than that I didn't feel comfortable with it. It's also on the ST605, but I did as Peter suggested and put a Tessar on - it rocks with that!
I was actually trying to follow your advice, but the ST801's are few and far between over here, and really go for premium prices. Same with the AZ-1, which I also liked the look of. I won't bother replacing the ST705 if I can't fix it - seems to me it's just a heavier version of the ST605 and I'd rather go for a spare one of those.
