More a Henry's Clearance Centre find,
I picked up a Vivitar Series 1 (Kiron made) 75-205 Telephoto zoom lens at Henry's Clearance Centre last night in Toronto for $50 CAD. Ok good price, not quite steal of the century, but how often do you stumble across a Kiron made Vivitar Series 1 in OM mount?

Hi Bill, Nice buy, Series 1 Vivitars are great lens. My two best from eBay were a 58mm f1.4 Minolta that arrived with a Minolta SRT 101 yesterday (seller included it because the plastic tip of the wind lever was missing after the auction) and a Super Takumar 28 f3.5 for $16 Can. including shipping.

Nice find, Bill! I was in there yesterday but I seldom find anything that grabs me.

Bill,
I have two Series I Vivitars. Both are Canon FD mounts.
The original Vivitar Series I, 70-210mm f3.5 (at all focal lengths ) Macro. This lens at 1:2.2 came closer to real macro (1:1) than any "macro" lens at that time and most since then. Big and rather heavy but good to use.
A Vivitar Series I, 24-70mm f3.8-4.8 Macro (1:5 - not really macro). This is my favourite lens and has become my standard lens with my T90. I bought it in 1997 as soon as it came out. It have must have been a real dog as it disappeared from dealers' and Vivitars' listings almost immediately. I wouldn't give it up for anything.
I wish an adaptor was available that would enable me to use these on my Pentax D100X.
Mickey
P.S. I have a Vivitar 5600 Flashgun, an excellent, powerful, greatly underrated flash. I also have a Vivitar 283 Flash. Also an excellent product. I like Vivitar equipment and have never had any problems with any Vivitar items. M.O.
