Always had a feeling that I'd get into the 'standard' Yashica/Contax cameras as a natural progression from my rangefinders, M42 SLRs and AFs.
I know - the FX1 is the best in the range, but you know how it is.... Looking out for a very cheap FX1 now!

I have an FX3, an FX7(chrome version of the FX3), and a FX3 Super. All are good cameras, but the FX3 developed a problem right after I got it. Every time I advanced the film, the shutter fired, and the FX3 Super has it's own problems with the mirror not fully returning to a ready postion, and the shutter sometimes not finishing it's travel due to the mirror catching on the back of 50mm lenses when they are set between 15 ft and infinity due to the lens protruding out in the way when at these settings. It could be damage done by the previous owner as I think most people are not as careful as we tend to be with our cameras.
Now I'm not saying that you'll have these troubles, just think of this as a kind of heads-up to possible problems you may encounter. By the by, the FX7 is trouble free (keeps fingers crossed).
Enjoy the "new" camera.

Well the FX-3 camera came. Perfect condition, a little lighter than the TL Electro X, but very similar. The flash (a Sunpak) that came with it is fine too. But the 'Extra lens' that came with it is for a Praktica bayonet fit. What's that all about ?? Thought for a glorious moment that my Praktica bayonets would fit Yashica/Contax cameras, but not even close! Need to get a film in now.
