I have a used sample of both that I would be glad to get to someone who would use them. They are not pretty ((with scratches and small cracks) any more but they are both completely functional and I have owned them both for several years with many good pictures. I would like to get maybe $50 for the 801 and perhaps $75 for the F90 (plus shipping). If anyone is interested let me know. Or just wants to talk about the relative merits of the two cameras always happy to talk cameras. regards, Phil

Phil
Excuse my ignorance on those 2 models......being mostly a manual focus guy, I'm guessing they must be Nikon auto-focus models? Is that correct? Tell me more about them.....ya never know-lol--I may not be able to live without one-LOL.
thanks Bob

Bob The F801 (aka F8008) came out in 1988 and it features matrix metering and a top speed of 1/8000 sec. Flash sync at 1/250. I believe it can go about 3 fps. It was the model below the F4 at the time. The F90 (1993) replaced the F801. It has faster AF and motor drive at close to 4 fps otherwise similar to the F801. They will both work with MF lenses but not the pre AI type as they don't have a moveable AI lever. They are combination of metal frame and plastic overlay. Not as solidly built as any of the prime F's but not too bad either. I am just not using either of them anymore. These are not shelf queens and have been used lots but have never given me any trouble

Bob I don't actually own a digital camera at the moment - nor am I likely to in the near future. I can put it on my scanner and see what turns out. If it is reasonable I can e-mail it to directly. I will get back to you on that. Phil
