I read something today I'd never heard before: that you can directly mount many Nikkor lenses directly on a K body: www.flickr.com/groups/pentax/discuss/72157600015946611/The gist is that some fit perfectly -- click and lock -- and some turn in snug but don't lock. Evidently no problem with focusing to infinity. I naturally had to give this a try so I picked one of my fave Nikkors, my AIS 105mm f/2.5 and tried it on my Pentax *ist DS2. It was one of those 'fits snugly but doesn't lock' lenses. I was careful using it, but it stayed in place quite well. Stop-down aperture, identical to using M42 lenses with an adapter. Metering worked. Focus confirmation worked. Focus to infinity worked. This was total news to me and if my other Nikkors work out then it's very welcome news indeed. I didn't try it until late in the day today, near sunset, and the light was very yellow and a bit harsh. Gene,
Lovely pictures. I particularly like Bridge at Sunset.
That Nikon lenses are compatible with your digital is a real bonanza.
If only my Canon FD lenses .................. Ahhh. What's the use? As my mother used to say. "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride."

Mickey, it's a shame that the FD lenses don't fit easily onto other bodies. Exploring the Nikkors on Pentax is going to be fun -- I have a good collection of them.

I know about FD woes.
