Congratulations on getting your Nikon.
One of these days I'll have a Digital SLR too.
I use my son's D-100 now and then and SLR is the only way to go for action and reaching out there.
My little Canon SD-900 is a great little pocket camera but having a background in magazine articles with film SLR's, I miss what you can do with an SLR.

Dan, thanks. I'm enjoying it, but it'll take me awhile to get the main features sorted out. I know what you mean -- I love my little Canon SD700, but there are times when a DSLR is just the thing!

I'm like you. If I didn't have several Nikon lenses I might well have gone with a Canon DSLR. One reason why I stared out with a last generation D100 that didn't cost too much so I could get a "fee" for things. I've been pleased enough with the results that I can't justify stepping up to a newer model--at least at this point.

anyone considering getting into Canon should look at a nice used D60 does not hav e the aftermarket lens compatibilty problems of the later and can be had for around $350
