Nikon has started shipping the new D300 and D3 cameras. Obviously some folks thought they could make a fast buck by being first on the waiting list at their local camera store, then turning around and selling the new camera on line for a nice profit.
Only problem, Nikon apparently made sure they built enough cameras in advance, so you can pretty much walk into your local store and buy the D300 ($1,800 right now). At least one Ebay gouger hopes to sell his D300 body for $2,700!!! Rotsa Ruck!

It's good to see another full-frame digital join the list. As additional manufacturers make them, the prices are sure to become more competitive and also serve to lower the prices on the smaller format cameras.
I hope those who hoped to make a killing on the new Nikons get burned for being greedy. I have no sympathy for them.

Would love to have the full frame D3 but will have to settle for the D300--sometime before Oct. 2008 (that's when our China trip is slated).
