Recently I've found myself shooting a lot of images of the birds in the neighborhood. This morning the temps were in the low 40s F with a wind taking the chill factor down considerably lower. I spotted this dove trying to blend in to the neighbor's roof while soaking up warmth from the shingles. D300, Nikkor 300mm f4.5 P lens converted to ai (The P series was made for the original Nikon F camera and connected to the meter finder via a fork on the aperture ring on the lens the latched onto a cam on the finder. Later ai (auto indexing) lenses had a notched ring that presses against a speing loaded pin on the lens mount.
