Took a week-end retreat up the west side of Vancouver Island with the wife and a bunch of cameras. This rock caught my fancy. . The weather was not too good but the sun came out briefly. I took this with a 55-200 zoom - unfortunately hand-held. Comments?

There are 4 things that stand out to me in the shot and which make it appealing.
1. The peak in the rock making the geometrics neat. 2. The green growth and varying colors on the rock. 3. The color of blue and slight wave motion of the water. 4. The reeds floating in the water.
They all draw my eyes back to the subject...the rock!

Hi Phil
Sensitive subject at the moment! Two nice things about that rock:-
1) It isn't in Moscow 2) It doesn't appear to have any sort of a Bluetooth device concealed about it.
!!!
Ok - too silly...
This is what photography is all about - you see it - you know there's something special, you shoot it. Very, very nice - everything about it is good.
Thanks Phil

And why this size is OK and the "hood ornament" was monstrous, is a mystery to me as they were put into photobucket at the came time. Go figure. Thanks for the comments. Phil

Phil,
Once I have loaded a pic on PhotoBucket, I always go into "edit" and check the size it shows.
If above 600+ x something, I 'reduce' it to half, then 'upgrade'...that makes a much more visually manageable pic once pasted to our board.
Give it a try...you can also preview it on our board before giving it final modification or post.

I can see a "face" as it struggles to get out of the water. Fascinating!

Thanks Ron Re: Photobucket I will watch for it in the future. Sorry group! Phil (It was a bit of a chore to see it wasn't it) BTW The camera was a Nikon F100 with a 24-85mm zoom Fuji 400 superia and a flatbed scanner.
