Hi,
Sorting through yet more old negatives last night and came aross these shots I took in the Volvo museum in Sweden in the 1970s.
All taken on FP4 in a Kiev 4A with the standard Jupiter lens. The lighting in the museum was good enough for handheld pictures at a reasonable speed, but I forget what speed or stop I was using. The latticework girders of the building's large domed roof left some peculiar spider's web patterns on the polished bodywork of the cars.
It's interesting to see the mix of European and American styling influences on Volvo in those days. Hope you find them interesting too.

1927-1929. A very sedate sit up and beg saloon (sedan) with the typical built-in external sun visor, wide square looking mudguards (fenders), no bumpers and artillery wheels. Note the rear-hinged 'suicide-opening' rear doors.
1933-34. Starting to look more modern now with 1930s rounded bulk. The large front bumper was mounted on rubber trunnions and carried heavy lead weights in the ends. It served as a harmonic damper to keep the antics of the beam front axle in check.
Not sure of the date of this one but probably about 1936. Very bulbous pumped-up look to the styling and a divided screen. Suicide-opening front doors here.
1938-1939. Easy to see the influence of Anmerican design thinking here, with a snout nose. Volvo was starting to get very safety conscious, and the suicide-opening doors were abandoned in favour of all four doors being front hinged.
