There is some neat old equipment there, Curt. Excellent photos -- some of those things were still in use when I was a boy -- grew up on a farm (long time ago...)

Thanks for showing these Curt. I too love old machinery, of almost any sort.

First picture, far left: you've captured the dumbest thing to ever be on a farm. The only thing it's good for is kicking the crap out of itself! (That's a joke, fellows! I've seen many of them in use when I was younger.)
Curt, those are very nice pictures and seing some of those farm impliments brings back a lot of good memories.

I had an old manure spreader like that which had horse-drawn tongue cut shorter and adapted for use on a tractor. We also had an old iron wheel hay rake. In New York State there were a lot of antiques and farm machinery available and both of these items we got, we actually used behind a Ford 8N tractor.

My father-in-law has an old manure spreader like that one in the first picture sitting on his property. There are old farm machines (from his father's day...and my father-in-law is almost 90!) out in the woods, overgrown and untended, and in much sorrier shape than these! My own grandfather had a pre-war Willys farm truck. When I was a kid I thought it was reddish-brown in color. As I grew older, I realized it was all-over rust! I seem to recall an image of it in an old family album. Next time I visit my folks, I'll have to remember to look for it!
