While waiting for my daughter's riding lesson, I spotted this view out behind the stables. Neat light. Phil

Oh yes, Phil.
The way the rays of sunlight come through the trees, the placing of the horses, the fact that they're 'looking in' to the picture, the way the light shines on their backs, and on the top of the rails, the back lighting of the foliage on the single tree ... wonderful! It's the sort of picture everyone wants to find yet which so seldom presents itself with everything just right. You got the exposure spot on, too. A picture to be proud of. Really well done!!

Peter Thanks for your kind comments. The shot was also lucky timing as it was only like this for perhaps a few minutes and then gone! I forgot to mention the equipment: F100 with 24-85 AFS at about 60mm with F11 in aperture priority with Fuji Superia 400 film. Phil

Phil,
I love the shots with sun rays like that, and have never been in the right place at the right time. You were one lucky, and experienced, photog that day! Great!

Nice shot, Phil. It's marvelous when everything just seems to come together like that!

Thanks all! Sometimes it just pays to be lucky. I don't always have a camera with me but I wanted an update of my daughter riding so brought a camera that morning. The shots of my daughter were just so-so. This one was a pleasant suprise. I gave the owner of the stable a blow-up which she plans to put on her web site. Phil

Superb Phil,
Immediately made me think of Ted Hughes' "The Horses". Thanks for sharing this one.

Thanks for the kind comments John I don't know that image by Ted Hughes. Do you know of a reference site for it?
