I like that Winter Pond shot, Sherrie! Makes me start thinking that maybe it isn't too cold to be out shooting! Of course, that wood pile with the snow blanket on top makes me think that maybe it is!

Sherri,
Beautiful pictures that really evoke the feeling of winter. Why would you move away from that? Especially since the wood has already been cut and stacked???

Sherri
I asked you for some more of your posts, and you come up with diamonds!
I am trying to complete a set of pictures of a mill pond. I need a seriously hard frost over about 3 weeks to make it right - looks like you get that effect every year!
Best regards - John

Mickey, the wood belonged to someone else, and we didn't move that far away. In fact we used to live right in the center of an old mill town, now we're out in the boonies with a pond behind us, a stream beside us. We could take pictures without leaving home. I'm just waiting patiently for the spring to come and that old apple tree in my front yard to bloom. Ron, those pictures were taken on a fairly warm day. Now this past weekend I made Bob jump the fence into one of our State Parks that closes for the season and go wandering around in there and it was COLD!!! Hope Bob doesn't read this because I'm supposed to be a stoic native of the area, lol. I just hope the pictures we took were worth the hour or so of slipping and sliding around the trail. John, even with the mild and almost snowless (much to the dismay of the communities that rely on snowmobilers and icefisherman as part of their income) winters like this one, we always have a few days that look great. Those are excellent shots, and chill me to the bone! I almost want to grab some of the nicely cut wood and build a fire.

That pond is really beautiful. Makes me want to put another log on the fireplace!
