I like the first cattails one Ron, but I can't help wondering - was there more to see at the top?

Yes -- the road! This is part of the same wetlands spot that surrounds the front of our local shopping strip mall!! It's a pretty expansive area, and the road isn't that close (about 1/8 mile) but there are few angles that don't show one of the roads that come to an intersection nearby...or show the grocery store and pharmacy in the background! (edit)Remember the newsstand shot I posted the other day? The wetlands are in the parking lot of this shopping area!! You can just see the beginning of them to the right of the newspapers! It continues to the north (to the right, then toward the camera in the first picture) for about 1/8 mile, getting wider and deeper as it goes. The acquifer is large in the area, and close to the surface. There are numerous streams and rivlets, rivers and small lakes in the area, too. The road in the picture background runs northwest, and about a 1/2 mile north from here runs between four small lakes (two distinct ones on either side of the road). One of the lakes is about a mile across! Actually, a picturesque place to live!

I like cattails and cattail pictures. Excellent backlighting on these -- they almost glow!

Yes, I can see what you mean from the last picture - water, water everywhere. Lovely shot too.
