Looking at the Robber Fly from Gene's 'Two from the garden', reminded me of these... Not in the same class but practice is supposed to make perfect right? !! Here are a few I took in the garden... A mason bee sneaks into a hole in the brickwork (if they can't find a suitable hole they can make one themselves... And another... The first hides the evidence - having laid it's eggs and stashed a food supply, it plugs the hole with papier mache... Finally, here's a pursuit to while away an hour or two (and a shot or two!!). Trying to focus on a hover-fly. They stay in one position for about three seconds... Regards - John

Good ones, John! We don't have the mason bee in Ontario -- what an enterprising creature. I wonder what they used before masonry came about?
You did well on the hoverfly. Getting one of these in flight is a terrific challenge!
