Anyone else as mad as me in trying to catch insects in flight (buy a lot of film!!) Caught this one last summer.... Caught it again on the ground this year.... Regards - John

Good capture, John. What camera/lens combo were you shooting with? You did a lot better than I ever could on the 'insect in flight' shot. Impressive!

First was Praktica BC1 - think I had a little zoom on it, but the technique was to set the focus and guess when I thought the insect had got there.
Second was Canon EOS 1000FN with 35 - 70 Sigma zoom. Not a very close approach lens that - could have poked a lens in the moth's eye if the lens had been up to it.

Neat moth there John. Most of my attempts at butterfly pictures on the move have turned out to be pretty dismal. Guess I need more practice.

You are really dedicated to persistantly pursue a small insect in flight without going crazy. A most notable capture though. Thanks for sharing it. I, for one , have never tried it.
