Hottest summer for 30 years in UK (another degree today and it would have been the hottest summer for 95 years). It's barbecue time! Is it ready to cook yet? Smoke from embers, sun through grill.... Disappointed with the second, because as I took it there was a grill pattern across the smoke as well. All the textbooks say avoid direct overhead sunlight, because it gives a flat image. But if you can find a way of breaking up the sunlight (look for 'mottledness' !!) it can be some of the most productive light. Regards - John

Neato John. It's been in the 90s here for a week now with 90% humidity. We are gonna have one heck of an electric bill from running the A/C.

Supposed to break 100 here for the next five days, with 104 predicted on Sunday. The only good news is humidity is usually low here--less the 25 percent. 100 degrees here is less taxing that 85 in San Antonio or Washington, D.C.

It's been hot in Ontario too, though it eased off a bit yesterday and today. The days have been brutal (by Cdn standards), but the nights, especially if you're strolling around Toronto, are delicious.
But John, your pictures don't cool me off! LOL

SW Michigan has been in the mid-high 90's for a week now, and humid. So much so that when you exit the house or car the camera lens immediately fogs over. Yeah, the keep in a ziplock bag and adjust to temp before taking the camera out works...but...miss a pic.
It is raining here today and we sure do need it for the flowers, etc.

It has been hot! We got a tiny bit of rain yesterday on this side of Michigan, too. Not much, though, and it didn't start to cool down a little until late in the day. Today is beautiful outside...low 80s, little humidity...and there's supposed to be more of the same for the weekend. ;D
