Sometimes, we really do want to take snapshots of family! These are my two oldest boys with their grandfather, at a recent family reunion picnic. Mamiya NC1000 on Fuji Superia 200 © Ron Herron 2006

Fine looking gents, all of them. Is this your dad or your wife's dad? He looks like the kind of person you'd really like to know.

Ron,
We can take all the 'job' or scenic or unusual pics we want and they do not compare at all to the good ol' family snapshots...!!
Good lookin' young men, the boys are...definately took their genes from the mother. Just kidding!!!!!
Which of the boys is the pro photog who uses the digital gear???

My son on the left is the pro photographer. Architectural stuff, works out of Florida, but goes everywhere (I understand he is bidding on a resort assignment in Dubai...which makes me a little nervous ). He's incorporated his business, and is doing well. Just bought a nice condo in Florida. The son on the right also owns his own business in Florida. Doing extremely well. The gentleman in the middle is my father-in-law...probably one of the neatest people I have ever met. There is no one...myself included...who wouldn't do just about anything for him -- because that's the way he treats everyone else. A real gentleman! Hard to believe he'll be 90 in a few months! LOL! ;D I tell everyone I contributed the brains, my wife was in charge of looks and personality!

Fine sons Ron. You must be very proud of them, and justifiably too. Comparing the one on the left, the pro photographer, with your avatar the family likeness is remarkable. He's going to look just like Dad when he gets a little older. The other one looks quite a guy. I'll bet he's got a fine sense of humour, you can see it in his expression.
As for your father-in-law ... oh my, what a grand ol' man! And coming up to 90 you say! Not all that many left now who were born during WWI (well, during in the UK, just before in the US I believe). If I'm spared and feel as young and sprightly in 12 years time as he looks now I shall be more than well pleased. Please give him my regards and best wishes for his 90th birthday.
Lovely picture.

Thanks! All three of my sons are fine young men...the kind of guys I would have been delighted to be friends with, when I was that age! My father-in-law is quite a guy, too. Helps everybody...and has an aunt who just turned 107! He admits he's slowing down, though...takes him longer now every spring to cut and split the 14 face cords of wood he uses for the furnace during the winter! My youngest is also quite a guy...he's the one who had the car accident and is still recovering...four years later. He's the real musician in the family. Plays guitar, harmonica, piano, mandolin....and composes his own music! He is very close now to having his first CD completed. Here he is, playing one of his mandolins for his niece -- our granddaughter (that's his cane propped next to him):

He composed a song on the piano...on the spot...for her, too. She was enthralled! ;D It was fun to watch!
