Swallows perch on a guywire behind my office, soaking up the morning sun. In about two weeks these little guys will head south -- waay south. According to what I've read they will winter in central or South America -- a fur piece from Idaho. They will return in late March. Nikon F, Tokina 80-200 zoom, Kodak Gold 200 film

Excellent, Wayne. The building makes a good backdrop and I love the shadows.

Great shot Wayne - you did well not to make it too 'contrasty'.

Nice pic, Wayne. Lately, I never seem to have a camera handy when things like this present themselves. I must be getting lazy in my old (middle) age!

Thanks for the compliments. The birds seem a little soft to me (if you enlarge them there isn't much detail) Not sure if it's the lens (The Tokina seems very sharp) or operator error. The swallows are pretty tiny, even when shooting with a telephoto and the contrast between them and the light wall is pretty high.

Ron - I can't take a camera to work (even in the car), so I know how that feels. You see it, you know it's right - then aaargh!
