Thanks to our friend and fellow camera collector, Mr. Ron Herron, I have recently aquired a Mamiya 500 DTL. The camera is a winning prize from a photo contest on Ron's site. I ran a roll throught it today and am very pleased with the results. All shot with Mamiya 500 DTL, Fuji100, 1/500, f/16 Local view (Longview, Washingtion) Monticello Hotel, Longview, Washington Pub in Ilwaco, Washington Shot in Long Beach, Washingtion Popcorn vendor, Sunday Market, Astoria Oregon

You won a nice camera, Steve. I like the first shot and the wagon wheel best.
I also had a look at your website for the first time today. You've got some lovely pictures there. I particularly like the portraits especially the one of the litttle girl and the flowers in the oval framing. It's got a sort of Victorian, Alice in Wonderland, quality about it, but with a modern young lady. Superb. You ought to put it up on the board here.

Steve - as always I like your pics very much. I have a 500MSX and 1000DSX because of Mr Herron. Actually, unless you are looking for shots in seriously bright conditions, the difference doesn't matter much. Like the Pub shot - Here's another (Comp shot but with an illegal camera!) Regards - John

Slowly but surely, I'm winning folks to the dark (Mamiya) side!

John: The "Plough and Harrow" !?
What a neat name for a pub! ;D (or does everyone know it as "Thwaite's")?

Thanks all: Peter, thanks for the compliments... I forgot that I even had my site linked.. LOL! I'll post a couple from there. John, I like shooting the entries to pubs, they're generally the most interesting. Of course, at times one is compelled to stop in for a quick glass of local brew Great shot BTW, I wouldn't mind stopping in for some pool and darts.

Steve & John: I've been known (in my younger days, of course) to like entering pubs...and not necessarily remembering what the entry doors looked like.......

Ron/Steve
That of course was my reason for not going back with a 'legal' camera - it was CLOSED!

I know exactly what you guys mean! In fact, I don't seem to recall what any of the inside doors looked like!
